Frankie Soleil

Where are you from?

Hilliard, OH

If you could be a member of any band, past or present, which band and what band member would you be? Why?

I would want to be the lead singer of Paramore. It has always been a dream of mine to be in an alternative band, I think it would be so fun and fulfilling.

If you could open for any musician or band, who would it be?

I would open for Ed Sheeran because he is not only insanely successful, but also really talented. I admire and respect him so much because he doesn’t need an immense amount of theatrics to captivate an audience and sell out shows.

What decade does your band belong in? Why?

I definitely belong in the current decade. With everything going on politically and socially, this is the time that a positive influence is needed most.

If your band was stranded on a desert island, what is one album that you’d all be happy to have with you?

“Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die” by Panic! at the Disco. This album for me is tied to some of my best memories with my friends. It’s the album that my best friend and I would listen to when we were driving late at night with the windows down in the summer.

What’s the worst gig you’ve ever played? Best gig? Is Instaband your first gig?

I guess the worst would be my first one at Kitamu Coffee in Hilliard before it closed. I was super nervous and no one showed up. My best gig was a competition called The Showcase Tour and wasn’t aware that the competition was for rap and R&B music. I was the only person who wasn’t a rapper, but I still got 3rd place.

What is one song that you would absolutely never cover?

“Wonderwall” by Oasis.

What’s your writing process like?

I usually write music alone. I always start with a concept of what I want to write about. After that I write the instrumentals and then I finish the lyrics.

Any fun facts?

I write 80% of my songs in my car because it’s the only space I feel is actually mine.
